Warriors

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis have turned Walter Hill's 1979 cult film into a gender-flipped musical: an all-female Coney Island gang navigating a night of survival across the boroughs after being framed for the murder of a powerful gang leader.
The score — road-tested as a 2024 concept album — pulls from hip-hop, salsa, ska, metal, and whatever else New York has ever claimed as its own. Jenny Koons directs, with Andy Blankenbuehler co-directing and choreographing. This is a world premiere, not a transfer, and no one has reviewed it yet — including us.
Previews begin March 9, 2027, opening April 8, at the Lunt-Fontanne. The source material has a built-in following that is not especially a Broadway crowd — which is either the most interesting thing about this show or a reason to manage expectations carefully. Curious what kind of night this is likely to be, or whether the room suits it?
